Brunello is one of the leading Italian wines.  made around the town of Montalcino exclusively with Sangiovese grapes that ripen better in these hills.  "Brunello di Montalcino" requires by law to have min. 4 years ageing before release, with 2 of those in barrels of oak.  It is a dry red vivacious wine, elegant with harmonic body and glavour, a persistent nose, with signs of wood.  A good vintage well-made Brunello, can age up to 50 years, if kept in the correct conditions.

Amerone is a high quality wine carefully made in small quantities, by the same grapes of the Valpolicella; Corvina, Rondinella dn Molinera, but with a much higher and time consuming methods.  Amarone has an astonishingly complex nose; warm, vinous, with a lush of intense fruit flavours, a hint of spices and a host of other magic flavours.  The tannins are velvety and finish amazingly persistent.

Among the best respected wines int he world, especially in good vintage years, Barolo must age a minimum of 3 years before release.  Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes around the town of Barolo in Piedmont, it is a big wine, fich and full bodied, taking on a brick red colout with age.  It is known for its high acidity and 'mouth puckering' tannins.  A top Barolo may require several years of ageing.
